New York, New York - It's a wonderful town!

I absolutely LOVE New York City. There's just no other way for me to put it.

On Saturday afternoon, after the hectic bus fiasco, we caught the New york Metro from Penn Station to Times Square and walked around trying to find our 1 star hotel [we're students, on a budget ok. Back off]. We stayed in Hotel Carter which, although wasn't so fancy on the inside, was in such a perfect location that I couldnt care less if the door to our room had 3 different locks on it ala Tom Hank's hotel room in BIG and that the door to the bathroom was too big for its jamb so whenever I had to pee I had to worry about the door opening on me mid-peeage.

We checked in, dropped our bags in our room and sat around our map of NYC planning the next 3 days of adventures. Seeing as we arrived later than we had expected due to being left behind in NJ, we decided to spend the Saturday night around Times Square and other places that didn't need daylight to see. By the time we stepped out of hotel again the sky was dark but the streets were lit up by the glow of the neon signs, flashing lights, and headlights that make Times Square what it is. It's bloody awesome.

We walked around snapping pictures and trying to make our way through the endless crowds of people and found ourselves in Applebees eating dinner.

After dinner, we walked to Rockerfeller Center, passing Radio City along the way.

Rockerfeller Center was so pretty.

If I knew how to ice skate I would have. But instead we just watched for a little while and took lots of pictures. Then I got in trouble from a security guard for standing on one of the benches - "Benches are for sitting, not standing. get down now Miss!". WoOpsies! My bad. I was already causing trouble in the big city. From Rockerfeller Center we walked 5th Ave to St. Patrick's Cathedral which reminded me a lot of St. Brigid's (from the little I can rememberof my childhood Church). The inside was beautiful, with intricate carvings of the crucifixion on the walls, and different candle stations for different Saints all around the pews. Funnily enough, St. Brigid was one of the Saints to be praised.

After St. Pats Cathedral we kept walking down 5th Ave until we hit Central Park. On the way I had my first Celebrity Sighting since I've been in the U.S. As we passed Tiffany and Co. on 5th I noticed a lot of people waiting outside the doors, some of which had big cameras like Kuyas. "I think somethings going on in there guys" and not 2 seconds later, out comes Barbara Walters.

Passerbyers went ecstatic with "Barabara! you look fantastic!", and "I love you Barbara!". But me... I was all for the "Isn't that the old chick that interviews people and makes them cry all the time?" Yes Bubba. yes it was.

When we reached Central Park I wanted to ride on one of the horse and carriages you always see on the movies but it was $40 so we passed. It was too dark for us to go walking aorund Central park so we turned back and headed for the hotel. It's been a big day and tomorrow would be even bigger. Time for bed.
