Moving to the East Sieeeda

Writing to you from the East Side! Oh yeah! Here's how the move went...

Tuesday the 2nd of January was such a hectic day. Our flight out wasn't until 11:59pm but I woke up early because we had a lot of errands to run before we left. I struggled with unpacking and repacking my bags over and over to try to get them under the weight limit, but in the end (even after shoving half my stuff into Brandons bag) one of my bags was still over. What can I say? I travel like an heiress. Luckily the Delta guy was nice enough to not charge me. For dinner Brandon's mum Bonnie made us fried chicken and mashy - was reallly good. Then Jose drove the three of us to the airport.

We were there pretty early so had to entertain ourselves while we waitied for out flight to board. Luckily we had snagged Brandon's brother's PSP and Nintendo DS (equipped with Tetris!) and Clare had her Sudoku book. I also tried to entertain myself by taking pictures but all three of us looked like shit cus we were tired so not many of those are going to make it onto this blog.

Our first flight took us from Ontario to Atlanta, where we had a 2 hour lay over, and then from Atlanta to Dulles airport. When we got to Dulles it took forever for our luggage to come out to the point where we started to question if they had made the transfer at Atlanta. But "Barney" my big purple suitcase emerged and all was good.

We got to the UCDC Center at around 1pm by the always magnificent super shuttle service, after what felt like an eternity of travel mainly because I hadn't slept in 24 hours. So all we wanted to do was drop our bags, eat, and sleep. We found a little chinese place and tried to overcome the exhaustion to feed ourselves, and then went to an Orientation where I think we were all physically awake but mentally fast asleep. Needless to say, we crashed out soon after Orientation ended as we had to wake up early the next day for a Continental breakfast and another Orientation.
