Bad luck on Liberty Island

On Sunday we had planned to go to Liberty island to do the whole Statue of Liberty thing. We left pretty early and took the train down to Battery Park, bought our tickets to Liberty island, the boys took a moment to have Hot dogs New york Style, we went through security, and boarded the ferry. We had to sacrifice warmth to get a good picture taking spot on the ferry cus let me tell you, it was fucking freezing on the top level of the ferry and through all my smiles I was really saying "Hurry up and take the goddamn picture before my teeth freeze and fall out along with my ears!"

When we arrived on Liberty island we spent another 45 minutes in line to go through another security check before being allowed up to the Observation level of the Pedestal. Once we were through we went through a museum of history on the statue, and then we had the choice of walking up 159 stairs to the deck, or taking the lift. We decided to walk it. Wrong decision. I think it mustve been at about stair #143 my knee popped out and I couldn't walk. Standing on the observation level holding back tears and flipping off the people taking pictures of the statur from the ground, all I could think was "I'm need my knee! I'm in New York!". After the boys were done taking pictures, I hopped down a flight of stairs to the elevator and we took the lift down. I sat on a bench for a while, trying to get the courage to have Brandon bend or pop or do something with my knee to take away the pain. He, on the other hand, thought it was pretty funy and entertained himself by taking pictures of me in pain...

I hobbled around so I could get my pictures taken around the Statue, and then we headed back to the ferry. But, since we just missed one, we had time to kill and Brandon insisted I go to First Aid to see if they could do anything about my knee. The First Aid dude was trying to make me go to the hospital straight away to get my knee fluid drained but I was like Hell No buddy. Just give me a bandage and some ice! Ive been having to get my knee done for forever, and I wasnt about to get it done mid-NYC trip.

When we got back to New York we walked to Ground Zero (which is now the construction site for the Freedom Tower) & Wall Street, then took the train back to Times Square.

We got caricatures done in Times Square. Branons one looked hilarious! Big teeth and asian eyes, which does look like him when he smiles. But he doesn't believe it. I think this picture proves him wrong.

We had New York Style Pizza for dinner and then went on a scavenger hunt for some brewed beverage.

We stayed in that night since my knee was still fucked up. But we drank, and talked, and then crashed out. One more day left in NYC and we had so much to do!
