Superbowl Sunday in Georgetown

The Sunday Suz was here was Superbowl Sunday. I guess it's the equivalent to our State of Origin or Bledisloe Cup where everyone makes sure they're by a t.v. atleast an hour before the game starts. I dont understand American Football (or Gridiron) very much... at all for that matter. But I'm in America, and this is one of the things Americans live for, so what the hell? The game didnt start til 6pm which gave me and Suz the whole day to do stuff.

After spending the night in Adams Morgan the night before then coming back to drink and play some crazy games of Spoons, we had a slow start on Sunday morning. Once we were fresh and ready to go, we headed to Georgetown to have a look at the infamous Georgetown University and to let Suz do a bit of shopping.

I love Georgetown. It's so cute! It reminds me of Starshollow - the little town where the Gilmore Girls live where everyone knows everyone and theres a little cafe on every corner. I hear the nightlife is good, but I haven't been.. not old enough *sigh*.

We had lunch and then walked to Georgetown Uni. It looks like a haunted castle or church as you apporach it, which was cool and creepy.

We walked around for a bit and found ourselves in the Commons which is so much better than UCRs. They have REAL food, not the shoddy little sandwich place like UCR has. We stopped in the bookstore and I bought a couple of presents for people at home. And then we decided it was too cold and that we had to find warmth in the shops.

On the walk back to the main street we found this cool artwork painted on the side of one of the buildings. Random, but cool.

After shopping, where Suz was the only one who actually bought anything, we headed back to the center just in time to have dinner and go downstairs to the big screen and watch the game with a few lunaticish football fans. The highlight of my night was seeing Prince do his halftime entertainment. I wish my hair would be as obedient as his.

Unfortunately, early the next morning Suzie had to elave to make her train to NYC. I woke up, got her a snack pack ready for the train, and put her in a taxi *tear* It was nice having a piece of home for a couple of days. I wont be getting another one for 5 more months.
