The Saturday of Suzie's D.C. visit

Suzie had made a list of things she wanted to see while she was in D.C. She'd already done the monuments and a couple of the smithsonians, so it was my duty to make sure everything on her list was done before she left on moday morning. Saturday's schedule consisted of Ford's theatre, the house where lincoln died, the International Spy Museum, and the National Archives.

We woke up early(ish)...

... you can tell early mornings aren't for me...

...and headed down to Ford's Theatre, where Lincoln was shot by Booth. On the way down we stopped at Starbucks where the lady messed up my order so we got free food. Always a fan.

I had already been here, as an earlier blog would tell you, but I didn't mind seeing it again. There's a lot of history there, and I like history and think assasination stories are tres interresant. I dont know why I decided to turn French there. But ok.

We listened to one of the staff talk about the assasination, something that I had missed last time i visited, took some pictures of Suzie around the theatre, and then headed across the street to the House where Lincoln Died. I didn't get to visit the House last time, so it was pretty cool to see where he lay and where his wife waited etc.

I'm not quite sure if we should have been smiling for this picture.

From here, we walked around to the International Spy Museum where we each had to take on a Spy alias and try to remember details about our assigned life so we could pass tests along the way through the Museum. Something to keep us entertained. At the final test, a test to see if we were "allowed to leave the country", Bradon got through with flying colours, I was put under suspiscion, and Suzie... well.. Suzie wasn't allowed to leave the country at all. The Museum in general was pretty interesting. There were heaps of spy tools and tv screens teaching you how to pick a door lock or spy on someone without them noticing. We even had a test to crawl through an ait conditioning vent without making any noise. Unfortunately, I went through after Brandon with Suzie following me, and due to my lack of a belt to hold my pants up, Suzie and I giggled the whole way through the vent because she had a nice view of my crack. Just like old times, huh Suz?

From the Spy Museum we stopped in China Town to have lunch, then made our way to the National Archives where the Magna Carta,

Declaration of Independence,

Constitution,

and Bill of Rights

are kept. This was awesome. I felt like Nicholas Cage in National Treasure.

In true "Suzie and Von" fashion, Suzie dared me to do something and I didn't say no...

He makes me look like a hobbit.

We took a couple of pictures on the steps of the Archives just for kicks before heading back toward the the center.

Saturday was a fun day. I miss Suzie now.
